High school in Spain

In the last years, interest in the Spanish language and culture has been continuously growing. Due to this growth, many schools, in countries such as the USA and Germany, have introduced Spanish as the first or second foreign language in their High Schools.

Many students come every year to Spain on one of our programs, going to Spanish high schools and living with Spanish families.

Schools

All of our students attend either public or private Spanish schools enjoying the same rights and obligations as their Spanish classmates. InterHispania, through our local coordinators, is responsible for the enrollment in the schools before the students arrive in Spain and also for all expenses that the enrollment procedure requires. However, it is the student who will have to pay for all extra expenses at the school, e.g. school books, sport clothes, etc. The student must bring money for books, school trips and possible travelling. The students will also have to pay for any extra activities.More

Local Coordinator

The job of the local coordinator is to interview family candidates in order to effectively place the student. The coordinator visits the home and ensures that the family understands and accepts the responsibilities that entails having a student for a short or long period of time. As part of their responsibilities, the family must provide protection for the students, a comfortable place to live in and also treat them as part of the family. Our local coordinators work closely with the host families and the students, giving them constant support and assistance. They serve as a bridge between InterHispania and the host family. The family and the students also count on support from the main office staff in Barcelona. We are at their service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.More

Host Family

A host family welcomes and hosts an international exchange student during his/her stay in Spain. The host family helps the student become involved in the host family life and integrated in their cultural environment. The host family also has an opportunity to learn and grow through accepting a student with a different language and cultural background.More

Orientation in Barcelona

On arrival they attend a mandatory two-day orientation in Barcelona. Our intention is to help them adapt quickly and easily to the new culture and language.
